To explicitly check for updates, launch the Settings app and select Update & Security, then tap on the Check for updates button. To help provide clarity, this release notes page will provide information for every major and minor update. These updates are always minor updates and never change the major build number. In between our feature updates, we also release fixes and improvements and security updates. Prior to that naming convention was based on year/month. The "21" in the name indicates the year (2021) and "H1" indicates the first half of that year. For example, version 21H1 became available in the first half of 2021. The current naming convention is year/half. The Windows Holographic version name gives you an indication of the time when the release became available. When using a deferral policy only a change in major build number is considered a feature update.
